Terms of Service
Last updated: July 3, 2026
Welcome to Tech Skills by Mail. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of techskillsbymail.com (the "Site") and your purchase of our mail-based technology skills course (the "Course"). By using the Site or purchasing the Course, you agree to these Terms.
1. What we provide
Tech Skills by Mail is a paper-based course: printed lessons mailed to your home that teach everyday technology skills at a comfortable pace. Some lessons include QR codes that link to short practice pages on the Site. Lesson content, schedules, and formats may be adjusted from time to time as we improve the Course.
2. Orders and payment
Prices are shown on the Site and at checkout. Payment is processed securely by Stripe, our third-party payment processor; we never see or store your card number. By purchasing, you agree to provide accurate billing and shipping information. We currently ship within the United States only.
3. Shipping
Lessons are sent by postal mail to the address you provide at checkout. Please make sure your address is complete and accurate — we aren't responsible for lessons lost due to an incorrect address, but contact us and we'll do our best to make it right. Mail delivery times vary and are outside our control.
4. Refunds
If you're not happy with the Course, email us at scott@techskillsbymail.com within 30 days of your purchase and we'll give you a full refund. No forms, no hassle.
5. Free beta programs
From time to time we offer free beta cohorts in select areas. Beta participation is free of charge, offered as-is, and may be limited, modified, or ended at any time. Beta signups are subject to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
6. Your use of the Site
You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You may not attempt to disrupt the Site, probe or breach its security, scrape it in bulk, or misuse the practice pages or signup forms (for example, by submitting false information or automated signups).
7. Intellectual property
All Course materials — printed lessons, practice pages, text, graphics, and design — are owned by Tech Skills by Mail and protected by copyright. Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable license to use the materials for your own learning (or that of the person you bought them for). You may not copy, resell, redistribute, or republish Course materials without our written permission.
8. No professional advice
The Course teaches general technology skills for everyday life. It is educational content only and is not professional, financial, security, or legal advice. Always use your own judgment (and the safety habits the Course teaches!) when acting on what you learn.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Site and Course are provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tech Skills by Mail will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Site or Course. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
11. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. It is part of these Terms.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the Site or Course after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New Jersey, unless applicable law gives you the right to a different venue.
